Elisha, who we see as the personal navi, performing miracles for the most simple people (in contrast to Eliyahu, who only performed national miracles), seems to take a 180 degree turn. Why? Why does he seemingly neglect the Shunamite Woman to the point where he doesn't even know she's barren? Even when he does find out he never really speaks to her directly; everything is done through Gehazi, his assistant. Why and how does Elisha perform miracles without God? Does God approve? Or does the fact that He killed the child show disapproval? Elisha goes through a transformation in these perakim, rids himself of the surrounding corruption, and reestablishes himself as the personal navi for the nation.
This class was graciously sponsored by Rachel Tawil in loving memory of her grandmother Miriam bat Leah A"H.
